The Losers, the Bully and the Clown

Labels have become so important in our lives. Whenever we purchase from the groceries, pharmacies or even convenient stores, we go over labels on check on the content, instructions, allergic reactions, name of the brands, etc. The information we gather from the labels often move us to purchase or ignore the commodity.

Unfortunately, this trait of labelling has move to other parts of our lives, particularly in dealing with people. The practice of label is based on historical experiences you have had with certain individuals, whether these are good or bad experiences. This labelling reaction may be detrimental in improving relationships with the other person.

A good example of this is the label we place each other in school. We would have the losers, the bully, the clown, etc. Even before graduation, we have a general label for the person who is seen to become successful, and for another who would tie the knot the earliest.

For some, Munstead Lavender labelling may look fun and harmless, but on the contrary, it has a negative effect that can last for a lifetime. People who get labelled negatively may get so attached to the label fail to recognize that it is their choice to accept the stereotyping or not.

The people who label other people usually remembers and assumes that the other people will not be able to move away from the label that they have given the person.

Those who are given labels refuse to show that they have been offended which are kept throughout their lives. They continue to live repressed lives and to choose living secretive lives where they are not open to labelling.

As they distant themselves, this situation is exacerbated by substance dependence and anti-social behaviour patterns. With all of these problems, the person may also acquire an identity crisis which would make things even worse.

Let us help our friends in school or any other place by not practicing labelling the person. Give them the opportunity to shine in their own way and to allow them to improve on their talents. Let us leave the labels on products, not on people.
